FTP Troubleshooting

Please use the following troubleshooting knowledge base to solve your FTP problems before contacting Da Web Works.

1. I cannot ftp into my site

1. Check if you have a connection to the web by browsing to your website and other websites and surf through them.
2. Make sure that you have the correct Hostname, IP or Address.

2. The FTP program keeps asking me for username and password

Make sure that you typed in the correct username and password. The password is case sensitive. If you don't remember your username or password please request your username and password via a support email.

3. My FTP connection is slow

Please check if your Internet connection is slow, this can be the reason why your FTP connection is slow, can cause you to disconnect from the server, or timeout your session and therefore the server will drop its connection to you.

4. I uploaded my files but I can't see them in my web browser. What is wrong?

Please make sure that you have uploaded your files to the web directory "www". Make sure that your first page is named "index" and has a .html or .htm file extension. Should you use a different file extension for your index page please send us an email. After everything is correct refresh or restart your browser.
